I am a native of the Piney Woods of East Texas. I was born in Groveton, Texas, and completed my high school education in Crockett, Texas. My mother was my first art teacher as a child, beginning at about age four. I primarily spent time enjoying trying to draw human figures. While working in corrections for over 34 years, I observed many who had put their God-given talents on the backburners to pursue endeavors which, in most cases, led them to their confinement. Many would say that once incarcerated, they had time. After retirement, I moved to Brenham, Texas, where I reside. By divine intervention, I have been blessed to meet artists who have encouraged me to continue and broaden my horizons in art and creativity. I have been blessed to meet many other artists through events and activities in the last three years, including Mrs. Graff. I am now a member of the rural arts groups in Fayetteville and the White House on the Hill. My themes are religious, country living experiences, and patriotic scenes. Thank you for your viewing, and I hope it is a pleasant experience, to God be the glory.
